The Online Student Profile gives you the opportunity to tell the Admissions Committee about your abilities, strengths and interests. In particular, we are interested in your activities and achievements that demonstrate leadership, dedication and overall excellence.
The Online Student Profile is a mandatory part of your application. If you do not submit your Online Student Profile, your application will not be considered for admission. You will receive access to the Online Student Profile on the Engineering Applicant Portal shortly after the Faculty has received your application from the Ontario Universities' Application Centre (OUAC).
The recommended deadline to complete all parts of the Online Student Profile and submit all required documents is December 2. A full list of deadlines can be found here.
The Online Student Profile includes the following sections:
- Program Choice
- Rank the engineering programs for which you would like to be considered (at least two and up to four)
- Indicate your interest in PEY Co-op
- On your OUAC application, you would have been given the opportunity to indicate interest in PEY Co-op; in this space you can confirm your selection. Your answer will not affect your admission decision in any way.
- Applicant Timeline
- Outline your educational activities from the start of secondary school to June 2025
- Test Scores
- Self-report AP, SAT or ACT test scores
- Academic Profile
- Detail your secondary and post-secondary (if applicable) course information
- Continue to self-report interim and final grades as updates become available
- Failure to complete this section carefully may delay the review of your application
- Extracurricular Activities
- Detail your activities outside of the classroom
- This information will be used for both admission and scholarship consideration
- Your activities do not need to be engineering-related and can include things such as academic clubs, athletics, arts, community involvement and paid or volunteer employment
- We do not require reference letters; however, references are required for extracurricular activities so that we may verify the activity if requested by the Admissions Committee. A reference for extracurricular activities should be a teacher, employer, or someone who otherwise supervised you in the position. A family member cannot be a reference. If a supervisor is not available, you may provide another form of confirmation of your involvement in the activity (portfolio, certificate, registration confirmation, etc.).
- Personal Profile
The Personal Profile is comprised of four timed written and video responses that will help us get to know you as a person. We are interested in your reasoning and communication skills – keep in mind, there is no ‘right’ answer.- Question 1:You will review and confirm that you agree to the terms of the Personal Profile.
- Question 2:You will have 10 minutes to prepare and type a 250-word written response.
- Question 3: You will have 2 minutes to prepare and then record a 2-minute video response.
- Question 4: You will have 3 minutes to prepare and then record a 3-minute video response.
