Engineering is about much more than math, science and design. Employers and industry leaders are increasingly looking for engineers who can lead teams, understand business, think holistically about a challenge, and communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
These skills are at the heart of what the Institute for Studies in Transdisciplinary Engineering Education & Practice (ISTEP) does. The first of its kind in Canada, ISTEP helps U of T Engineering students develop these essential skills through innovative co-curricular programs, for-credit courses, a summer fellowship, teamwork support, communications tutoring and more.
ISTEP also oversees several minors and certificates, including:
- Engineering Business minor and certificate
- Communication certificate
- Entrepreneurship certificate
- Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusive certificate
- Leadership certificate
