All programs consider applications for part-time study. Students enrolled part-time take courses alongside full-time students, at a reduced course load of 3.0 credits for the Fall-Winter session (maximum of 1.5 credits per term). Students in Engineering Science are expected to maintain a full-course load, but may gain permission to pursue part time studies or less than a normal/full course load due to medical or personal reasons.
Students must complete their degree within nine years and may apply to transfer into full-time studies upon completion of all first year courses. It is not possible to complete the program on evenings or weekends as all Engineering courses are scheduled during the day. The academic requirements for part-time students are the same as full-time admission requirements.
Individuals who have completed an Engineering degree at another institution are not eligible to apply for degree level undergraduate studies in Engineering at the University of Toronto.
