Current Ontario High School Applicants

Candidates following the Ontario curriculum must be completing the Ontario Secondary School Diploma. More information about our requirements can be found here.

Visit the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) and complete the application by the application deadline using your Ontario Education Number (OEN). To be eligible for admission during the first round of decisions in February, you must apply by the deadline for early consideration.

Students who rank U of T Engineering below 3^rd choice on their OUAC application will be disadvantaged in the admissions process.

We recommend that you submit your application by November 7. Please review a full list of our deadlines.

Online Student Profile Assessment Fee

Students who wish to apply to U of T Engineering are required to pay an Online Student Profile Assessment Fee of $42.00 when submitting their OUAC application.

Shortly after we receive your application, we will send you your JOINid with details on how to enable it.

Once your JOINid is activated, you may proceed to the Engineering Applicant Portal where you will complete the mandatory Online Student Profile. If you do not complete your Profile, your application will not be considered.

To be eligible for admission during the first round of decisions in February, you must complete your Online Student Profile by December 1. A full list of deadlines can be found here.

Submit Your Documents

Provided you have completed all of your high school education in Ontario, your guidance counsellor will send your grades to us via the OUAC. If you have completed any high school education outside of Ontario, please upload relevant documents through the Engineering Applicant Portal by January 15.

To be considered for admission during the first round of decisions in February, please complete your Online Student Profile and provide any supporting documents by December 1.

English Language Requirement

You may be required to provide proof of English proficiency, please visit the English Language Requirements page to evaluate if you are required to satisfy this requirement. If you are required to provide proof of English facility, your results must be submitted as indicated on our English Language Requirements page and must be received by our document submission deadline.

Applicants are considered for scholarships on the basis of academic excellence and extracurricular involvement as demonstrated in the Online Student Profile. Engineering applicants may also be considered for university-wide scholarships, for which a separate application is required.

Domestic (Canadian Citizens/Permanent Residents/Protected Persons)

In addition to scholarship consideration, domestic students may also be eligible to be considered for government financial aid programs.

You are automatically considered for many U of T scholarships, but you may be interested in applying for others.  Visit the Finances section of this website for related details and deadlines.

UTAPS

The University of Toronto Advance Planning for Students (UTAPS) program provides non-repayable grants to students to help cover this financial need gap, or unmet need.All students who would like to be considered for UTAPS must completed and submit an application through the Need Navigator, along with any supporting documentation required as stated on the student's application by the deadline. International (Study Permit)

To be given full consideration for all Faculty scholarships, complete the section on the Financial Information tab.

International students are not considered for financial aid from the University of Toronto, however financial information may be taken into consideration when making U of T Engineering International Scholar Award decisions.

If you want to live in residence, you must complete U of T’s common residence application (StarRez) via the Engineering Applicant Portal. This step allows you to tell us which residences you’d like to live in. To qualify for our Residence Guarantee, you’ll need to complete the StarRez application before the March 31 deadline.

• Review the status of your application
• Receive important updates from our Admissions Office
• Confirm the receipt of your documents (if required)

Ontario high school students are considered in three rounds of admission February, March and May. When a decision is made, it will be posted here first. All decisions will be made by the end of May.
